Meet Mia AND Ice Bucket

‘Buckets’ was trained by Mia’s dad Allan and from very early on it was sure he will have a forever home with them. Due to his kind nature and personality, Mia’s parents Kim and Allan knew he would be a great horse for their daughter. Buckets had a super racing career winning 7 races, including 2 city wins from only 31 starts. Unfortunately he sustained an injury and was retired in 2018. After a very long spell and sufficient time off to ensure a full recovery, Mia was finally allowed to start riding him again.

Since Buckets has been back in work, him and the 12 years old have formed a great partnership. They have won many ribbons at their first InterClub outing as well as winning this years Carbine Club of NSW Junior Thoroughbred Rider competition. I had a lot of fun photographing Mia and Buckets at their beautiful property, it is easy to see how much love and trust there is between the two of them. He is such a dude.

Ice Bucket *2011 (Nadeem x Keys) retired in 2018 with an impressive race record of 31 starts for 7 wins and 10 seconds/thirds, including 2 city wins and a total of $183,165 in prize money, trained by Mia’s dad Allan Kehoe.
